WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 7, 1999 -Wow! Our wonderful new employee, Sue, wants to adopt Annie!!

Sue joined our Happy Home for Strays as a part-time kennel helper about a month ago and we are very lucky to have her here!! Sue gives all the doggies such wonderful care, but we could tell Sue was getting especially attached to Puppy Annie as she often spends much of her lunch-break time in Annie's kennel playing with this beautiful puppy.

When Sue announced first thing this morning that she'd like to adopt Annie, I thought this was fantastic news! Annie would have a great home as a very pampered house puppy and would also have a companion doggie to play with--Sue's other dog, Clint, who looks like a big, adult version of Annie! This was really wonderful news. Sue wanted to leave Annie here for several more days, tho, while she "puppy proofed" her house.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 7 - I went to visit the new little Terrier at the clinic

Our vet decided to keep him at the clinic until the bandage, which covers his entire front leg, could be removed, not wanting to take a chance on the dog getting the bandage wet staying in an outside kennel. The little dog has had had his check up, which showed there were no health problems other than his hurt legs and his being underweight--good news.

When I got to the clinic Tammy went to get the little guy to bring him into the room to see me. In he hopped on three legs, holding up his hurt, bandaged front leg. What a skinny little raggamuffin he is--but a cute fellow. The little doggie and I had a nice visit trying to decide on a good name for him. We both agreed on "Skipper," which seems to suit him well. After a while I told Skipper I'd be back in a few days to visit him again.
