Pat Arnold's Daily Dog Log

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 21, 2000 - Bobby comes home after re-stitch job at our local clinic

9:30 a.m. - This little fellow is now back home and is back in his outside kennel for a short while so he can visit with his mommy and sister, Briar. He's wearing his E-Collar, and a pretty green, thick bandage is covering the length of his "restitched" leg. Hopefully he will behave himself.

Bobby will be spending much more time in his house kennel, and we will watch him very closely when he is outside during the day in his outside kennel near his mom and sister.

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 22, 2000 - Fence donations begin coming in, and construction is underway

10:00 a.m. - Today's mail contained many donations earmarked for our proposed sound-barrier security fence! THANK YOU! How wonderful you all are and we thank you very much.

We called the fence man right away. We had already gotten the estimates and were just waiting and praying for the financial help we needed to be able to start construction. I've never been so happy to see a bunch of trucks pull up our driveway loaded down with fence hole digging equipment, a ton of tall wooden fence posts and a small cement mixer, etc.!

Right now we cannot afford to have the whole perimeter of our shelter fenced, but at least we have a start. Then, as more funds hopefully come in, we will continue fencing the perimeter in sections until it is ALL fenced in! THANK YOU AGAIN FOR YOUR HELP!

Pat's Daily Dog Log Continues

Few changes from here on since last edition of this homepage, except the links at the end.
No more puppies! No more kittens!

Until all the dogs (and all the cats) now alive find good homes, let us allow that no more be conceived!

Please help us get this message across to the millions of unaware Americans who continue to allow their pets to procreate!

If we can get everyone to spay and neuter their pets, the overpopulation problem will go away, and no more healthy, young companion animals will ever again be killed simply because there aren't enough homes available to adopt them.

Former Stray Dogs for Adoption

As always, complete financial records are available upon request.

Dog food, veterinary expenses and kennel crew wages have been running over $1,800 per week, and we are quite often literally paying this week's expenses with this week's donations. We, Pat and Bill Arnold, receive no remuneration whatsoever for any work we do for our no-kill shelter, which includes managing it. (Bill pays our bills from his salary from his regular job in Dallas.)

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

We continue to thank those who continue to write us such encouraging letters and e-mail messages letting us know that you believe in what we are doing at Straydog (our Happy Home for Strays) as we continue to provide a decent life (as long as may be necessary) for each of our now 49 rescued dogs!

Please take a look at some of our newsletters (click on links at end of page) and see the original article in The Dallas Morning News --on the Internet at "dallasnews.com/archives" (search for Pat Arnold on March 13, 1997).

We rely on donations to keep our shelter going. If you believe in us and in what we are doing, please help us with a contribution to THE ARNOLD STRAY DOG FUND at the following address:
