Today at Preston and Park Petco

SUNDAY, MARCH 12, 2000 - Adoption Day #2 is underway

Pat, several members of Friends of Straydog and six ready-to-adopt dogs are spending the afternoon at the Petco located at Preston and Park in Plano. Please drop by and say hello, or better yet, please come and adopt one of these beautiful dogs!

8:00 p.m. - THANK YOU Shelley and Joel Woodburn, John Pippin, and all the wonderful Friends of Straydog for all of the time and effort you have put in to help us try to find loving adoptive families for the dogs at our Happy Home for Strays and THANK YOU, PETCO STORE for allowing us to bring our dogs to visit for another afternoon.

8:00pm - SILVER was adopted! One dog out of the six that we took for the afternoon at Petco was adopted and is now at her wonderful new home. We already know the family well, since they have recently been to visit our Happy Home for Strays, and they came again to Petco and decided that Silver was the perfect pet for them. What a happy, pampered house doggie she will be!

The other five dogs are now back here with us, sound asleep in their cozy, hay-filled dog houses. They've had a busy day.

Few changes from here on since last edition of this homepage, except the links at the end.
No more puppies! No more kittens!

Until all the dogs (and all the cats) now alive find good homes, let us allow that no more be conceived!

Please help us get this message across to the millions of unaware Americans who continue to allow their pets to procreate!

If we can get everyone to spay and neuter their pets, the overpopulation problem will go away, and no more healthy, young companion animals will ever again be killed simply because there aren't enough homes available to adopt them.

Former Stray Dogs for Adoption

As always, complete financial records are available upon request.

Dog food, veterinary expenses and kennel crew wages have been running over $1,800 per week, and we are quite often literally paying this week's expenses with this week's donations. We, Pat and Bill Arnold, receive no remuneration whatsoever for any work we do for our no-kill shelter, which includes managing it. (Bill pays our bills from his salary from his regular job in Dallas.)
