Katie, an old girl brought by
SJ
SJ Greenwood, who contributed $1,700
worth of dog food to Straydog in 1999, bought with money she earned
mowing lawns (in addition to her regular job) recently found this
old girl, Katie, who was just about on her last legs. Katie's
beautiful long fur was so terribly matted she had to be shaved
to her skin. She has a heart murmur and the beginning of cataracts
and is anemic, probably from the infestation of hookworms she
had also. SJ took Katie right to her vet for medical attention
and tried in vain to find Katie an individual home but finally
had to call us. Since the Rotty pups were both adopted last weekend
at PetsMart, their kennel was open, and we took Katie and will
give her lots of loving care and any continued medical attention
that she may need.

SJ waits for a kiss from Tommy.
Tipper's a little hesitant.

WORKS!
(Now anyone who types in "www.straydog.com"
will automatically
be redirected to our website, www.straydog.org)
No more puppies! No more kittens!
Until all the dogs (and all the cats)
now alive find good homes, let us allow that no more be conceived!
Please help us get this message across
to the millions of unaware Americans who continue to allow their
pets to procreate!
If we can get everyone to spay and
neuter their pets, the overpopulation problem will go away, and
no more healthy, young companion animals will ever again be killed
simply because there aren't enough homes available to adopt them.

As always, complete financial records are
available upon request.
Dog food, veterinary expenses and kennel crew
wages have been running over $1,800 per week, and we are quite
often literally paying this week's expenses with this week's donations.
We, Pat and Bill Arnold, receive no remuneration whatsoever for
any work we do for our no-kill shelter, which includes managing
it. (Bill pays all our bills and living expenses from his salary
from his regular job in Dallas.)
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
We continue to thank those who continue to
write us such encouraging letters and e-mail messages letting
us know that you believe in what we are doing at Straydog (our
Happy Home for Strays) as we continue to provide a decent life
(as long as may be necessary) for each of our now 49 rescued dogs!
Please take a look at some of our newsletters
(click on links below) and see the original article in The
Dallas Morning News --on the Internet at "dallasnews.com/archives"
