Excerpts from Pat's Daily Dog Log:

MONDAY AUGUST 14 2000 "Moving Day" for the pups

In order to help the pups overcome their fear of people we decided to move each pup in with a friendly adult dog to become their new kennel companion. This way the pups will see the friendly interaction between the adult dog and us, and help the pups to realize there is nothing to fear from people. This was the big moving day for the three pups.

Puppy Pixie moves in with Jake

Big, friendly, lovable, playful Jake needs a playmate! Raven had been Jake's companion, but when she hurt herself playing with Jake, we had to take her out of his kennel so she wouldn't tussle around for a while. Now Raven is in a kennel by herself for a few weeks, and Jake is heartbroken to have lost his best buddy. He needed a new friend.

Jake wants to get to know Pixie, but she's still showing him her teeth, and he's waiting patiently. The above photo was taken in Pixie and Bailey's kennel, where we took Jake to meet Pixie while Bailey was in the park on his daily free play period.

Randy finally catches the pup, who's still scared to death of all humans. Randy is carrying Pixie to Jake's kennel.

Pixie has warmed up to her new friend, Jake, and likes his nice big kennel.

Friends! It took only minutes for Pixie to realize that Big Boy Jake makes a great playmate! Jake is so happy now to have this bouncy, very playful pup, for a kennel companion, and Pixie is a happy pup too! Both fellas are worn out from playfully chasing each other all around their kennel.

Mary and Pat take Tommy's dog house down to Tommy's new kennel.

Tommy is being moved into a new kennel with shy pup, Dixie, for his new companion. Juan and Mary maneuver Tommy's house thru the inner gate while Pat closes the outer gate. [The kennel was made much larger the next day to allow for plenty of room for running around doggie fun!]

Big pup, Buster, moved in with Tipper and they became instant friends too.
