THURSDAY AUGUST 17 2000 Pat works afternoon shift alone

It's hard to believe that for the first three plus years (1993 thru the first part of 1997) I did all the kennel work myself (with Bill's help on weekends). We didn't hire any help till our shelter population had reached 19 dogs.

FRIDAY AUGUST 18 2000 Sunny gets nails trimmed by "Dr. Sue"

Sunny is one dog who does not like to have her nails trimmed! She doesn't even like for us to look at her nails! So this toe-nail-trimming morning went as expected: We had to put a muzzle on Sunny, and it took both Randy and me to hold Sunny still while Sue did the trimming. We managed to get the front nails trimmed, but Sunny put up such a tremendous fuss we decided to leave the back nail-trimming for another day.

Sue brings Sunny to the "operating area" while Teddy sniffs the grass at a distance.

Pat and Randy hold Sunny while Sue trims nails.

I'm saying, "Sunny, this doesn't hurt at all."

Thru her muzzle Sunny gives Sue a "Please stop!" kiss in between clippings.

Another BIG "kiss for mercy"

"I don't like this!" says Sunny.
