MONDAY DECEMBER 4 2000 New Arrival, Aussie "Blake" tries to jump fence
About 7:00 this chilly morning I was in the big play yard with a couple of the dogs when I heard a fence-rattling noise coming from Blake's nearby kennel. I glanced his way just in time to see Blake try to jump his six-foot fence, and he almost made it over the top! I let out a loud, firm "Blake! No!" command, which immediately got Blake's attention, and he went to the middle of his kennel yard and sat down.
I next called Marci, Juli's sister, and told her about Blake's attempt to jump the fence and how terribly concerned we were that he definitely would succeed in getting out of his kennel when we were not outside to keep an eye on him. Marci said that she or Juli would drive down from Dallas to pick the fellow up ASAP. They had decided that Marci would take care of Blake, hoping that Blake would get along with Marci's two dogs. Marci would care for Blake until her sister, Juli, could get settled in her new place--with a fenced back yard. This sounded like a good plan to all of us.
Juli, Blake's rescuer, comes to pick up Blake, and he is thrilled to see her
Julie arrived about 10:30 this morning to pick up her doggie, Blake. It was quite obvious to see how much Blake loves Julie. He was thrilled to see her and soon was happily wagging his tail in the back seat of her car as he waited patiently for us to hurry up and finish talking so he could go home with his mom!
