MONDAY DECEMBER 18 2000 Puppy Popcorn is adopted!

Last Saturday at our puppy adoption day Susan, one of our puppy-sitting volunteers, told me that she thought that her friend, Ann, would be very interested in adopting cute, little black Puppy Popcorn. Ann and her family had been looking for a puppy just like Popcorn to become their family pet. Susan called Ann and told her all about this adorable pup, and today Susan came with Ann and her sons, Matthew and Michael, to see Popcorn.

Anticipating the adoption of Popcorn, I put puppy Nina in the kennel with Popcorn and her sister, Peanuts, so that if Popcorn were adopted, Peanuts would not be lonely, because she'd have Nina to play with.

It was windy and cold when Susan and the family arrived about 5:00 p.m. tonight. We went right to the puppy kennel where the three pups were chasing each other around, and it took just one look at little Popcorn for the family to fall in love with her instantly. We brought Popcorn into the house, and while Ann filled out the adoption papers, I gathered Popcorn's toys, puppy food and health records together. Popcorn curled up on five-year-old Matthew's lap while his brother, Michael, pet Popcorn too, and in seconds little Popcorn's tail was wagging happily. It was such a beautiful sight to see Ann's sons gently petting Popcorn and talking quietly to her. What a wonderful, loving family. Popcorn will be so happy!

Once the adoption papers were filled out and Popcorn's "belongings" were gathered together, the family was ready to leave with their furry, little black bundle of love. It was hard to tell who was happier, Puppy Popcorn, or Ann's adorable young sons!

Matthew's mom emailed us these photos of Popcorn and Matthew taken at their home.
