Grassfire approaches Straydog!
Pat and the kennel team fighting the fire initially, a shift in the wind, and the arrival of area volunteer fire fighters avert what could have turned out very, very bad for Straydog.
(It was so hectic we couldn't get the camera out till the worst was over!)
You can see the fire line just a couple of hundred yards outside our western fence.
The fireline was just 200 yards from our first kennel fences at this point.
Camera is pointed toward the southwest. At least 50 acres burned in the fire to the west of us.
Less than an hour ago the flames were shooting in the air, and we were doing everything we could to try to stop it, till finally the wind shifted and several fire departments arrived and finally put out the fire.
