SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 30 2001 (continued)
Debbie, who first heard about us in last Tuesday's Dallas Morning News column by Jacquielynn Floyd and came to Canine Commissary (on Lower Greenville in Dallas) yesterday to volunteer her services as a dog sitter, was thinking of adopting a dog for a companion, and she wanted to come out today to look at our many furry friends.

Debbie arrived about 10:30 this morning and took the tour meeting most all of our 66 dogs. The tour stopped abruptly when we came to Tony the Pony's kennel. I think Debbie fell in love with Tony the second she saw him. (Tony is the beautiful, HUGE Great Pyrenees.)
As soon as we walked into the kennel that Tony shares with Maggie, Tony greeted Debbie happily and jumped up on her putting his front paws on her shoulders. He stood a head taller than Debbie! After just a few minutes of visiting with Tony, both Debbie and Tony decided they were meant for each other.
Soon all the paper work was filled out and medical records were transferred to Debbie, and I (Pat) led Tony to Debbie's car. The big guy eagerly jumped into the back seat, smiling so happily, and off they drove. Some of the kennel crew had tears in their eyes, as Debbie and Tony drove off, but we're all very happy Tony's found his forever home!
