Helen's first
mealtime
at
Straydog
Sweetie's eating in the
main kennel (just left of center in the photo) while Helen stands
in her enclosed feeding area, not showing much interest in her
bowl of food on the little table in the corner.
Helen's food bowl is set
into a hole in the top of the table so it won't slide off. Helen's
still not showing interest in eating.
Now Helen is thinking about
eating.
Sweetie's done eating, sitting
by her empty bowl waiting for the caregiver to pick up her bowl.
Helen's ready to be let out of her eating area. (This wait is
usually never longer than 30 seconds.)
Brooke takes Helen's bowl.
Sweetie wishes Brooke had left it so she could finish it
off!
Brooke secured Sweetie in
the double entrance gate area, and is holding Helen's bowl, and
now the big pup decides to eat. Since this first day of
regular meals, Helen has learned the routine of enjoying her entire
meal alone in the "feeding gate" area.
Maybe Helen didn't want
to eat because her name's spelled wrong on her bowl.
Brooke gives Sweetie a kibble
to keep her happy while she's waiting for the hand feeding to
finish.
Sweetie just wishes she
could get in there to partake of this hand feeding!
