Blind Mommy Freckles goes for her first outing in the park with Caregiver Tina.

Tina leads Freckles back to her kennel. Freckles is not at all accustomed to a leash.

Freckles can't quite get the hang of walking on a leash.

Pat helps Tina move Freckles along toward her kennel.

With further help from Pat (and a greeting from Little Lucy) Freckles enters her kennel.

A NOTE FROM BILL: As most of you know, we're not in the habit of having mother dogs give birth to their puppies at Straydog. In fact this is the first litter born here. As you also know, we are constantly preaching and will continue to constantly preach spay and neuter - conception control - to stop poor dogs like Freckles from becoming pregnant. But Freckles' puppies are tiny dogs now with very special needs, and when we made the commitment to provide a home for their blind mother, Freckles, we made the same commitment to Freckles' babies: a home and good care until they are adopted.
