FRIDAY NOVEMBER 22 2002

The day didn't start out so good for me and Danny

About 7:00 every morning I use the catheter on Danny Boy to empty his bladder of urine, and usually, Menis, one of our employees (who happens to be from South Africa), helps me by holding Danny still. I managed to insert the catheter with no problem but I could not get the tube all the way up to the bladder--even with a second and third try. I had a feeling that it would go, but not wanting to use too much force I just couldn't get it past the tumor that is squeezing the utrethra. I felt that Dr. Morton would have no trouble with this, so Bill and I took Danny to the vet clinic as soon as they opened, and just as I thought, the doctor inserted the catheter with no problem.

The first thing Dr. Morton said when he walked into his examining room and saw Danny was that Danny was looking good this morning. Danny was pretty perky this morning. (He Probably would have been a lot more perky if I hadn't had so much trouble!) I sure hope things go much smoother tonight for Danny's second catheterizing. [Later: Things did go better tonight.]

The report from the vet is that Little Lassie is okay!

Later in the day Dr. Morton called me to say that the biopsy results were back from the lab on the two lumps the doctor had removed from Lassie, and they are benign cysts. What wonderful news this is!

Update on Frosty

Frosty's heartworm test also came back negative. Great news!

This beautiful Husky mix who has been staying at our vet clinic since the surgery to repair her broken leg (caused by a gunshot wound almost two weeks ago) is doing just fine, the doctor said, and this coming Monday they will remove her E-Collar, and if she leaves her incision alone all day long, she will be able to come to our Happy Home for Strays on Tuesday, where she will reside in one of the recovery kennels in the living room of our house for the next month.

Saturday Adoption Day will be at Canine Commissary on Lower Greenville in Dallas

Earlier we had reported that we would be at both the the Plano and the Dallas stores. Puppies Jimmy, Perry and Dakota are going to Adoption Day along with Dallas, Melissa, Dobie and Kalli (who is most likely already adopted--all we lack is the home visit to see how the three Boxers get along).
