Frosty Husky joins our Happy Home

After a rushed trip to town to do many dog related errands I drove back to the shelter and picked up Guy so he could accompany me to the clinic and help me with Frosty on the ride back home to the shelter. Because her hind leg is broken, she would not fit into a crate, and not knowing how well she would ride in the van (not wanting her to be able to climb over crates and other obstacles in her excitement during the ride) I thought it was best to have someone help me with Frosty to keep her calm.

Frosty is raring to go!

The vet tech took Guy back to the kennels so Guy could leash up this beautiful Husky while I picked up her medicine and paperwork at the front desk. Frosty was raring to go and tugged at the leash as Guy walked her through the clinic and out to the grassy areas beyond the parking lot to go potty before the ride home.

We're as ready as we can be for Frosty

We had Frosty's big kennel all ready for her in the kitchen, which is really Snowflake's kennel, but we rearranged another big area for Snow in the second half of the kitchen, and Snow is happy, and Frosty is very content in her new quarters too. The rest of the house is a Grand Mess, tho, but we're very used to this type of thing happening.

Toby and Blackie (also once-upon-a-time strays) have been long-time house pets, and they went over to Frosty's kennel to say a sniffy greeting, as they always do for every new arrival who comes into the house in recovery.

Frosty seems to have settled in nicely. She has been outside several times on the doctor prescribed short-leash walks, and she always likes coming back to the house and into her kennel to curl up on the huge, thick dog bed.

Frosty (not quite sure of her new situation) lies in her kitchen kennel behind Toby.

Toby, an Australian Shepherd, wants to be friends with all dogs.

Frosty the Husky is a beautiful dog!

Frosty's hoping someone will take her outside soon.

This photo shows how jam-packed our home is with dog stuff.
