Planning tomorrow's adoption day

Our volunteer coordinator just called (about five p.m.) saying we will have enough volunteers to be able to hold Adoption Day at both Canine Commissaries--the one on Lower Greenville in Dallas and the one at 15th and Custer in Plano, Texas.

Going to the Greenville store will be the three-month-old Lab mix puppies, Jimmy and Perry, and Heeler mix puppy, Dakota, along with pretty, one-year-old Black Lab mix, Amber.

Going to the Plano store will be the two cute three-month-old male Shepherd mix pups, Pepsi and Pepper, along with adult Shepherd mix, Melissa, and possibly another adult dog or two.

Helen (the big Great Dane pup who is mostly blind and totally deaf) is scheduled to go to her new home near Houston tomorrow

We heard from Helen's new family, Neal and Darla Fort, who (with their two kids and dog, Winston) are on their way home now from Canada (where Neal has just finished up his [CFL] football season--see our November 24th entry). The Forts will be stopping to meet Helen for the first time and hopefully pick up the gigantic 10-month-old PUP. After they meet the newest member of their family, either they will be taking Helen home with them (if she'll fit in the car), or if they'd rather have Bill and me bring Helen to their home on Sunday, we will do that. It will be wonderful to finally meet their whole family.

Tomorrow will be a very exciting day!
