LEFT: On January 27, 2011 Lisa-Lisa is lying on the operating table at Morton Clinic undergoing surgery to repair a twisted stomach, which if not untwisted quickly, would result in Lisa's death. Dr. Terry holds and squeezes Lisa's stomach as Juana holds in the stomach tube and Dr. Morton monitors the fluids coming out of the other end of the tube into a stainless steel bucket on the floor. LEFT CENTER: The next day we take Lisa back to the clinic, and Dr. Terry examines her while Juana reads her log of what went on all night with Lisa at Straydog. RIGHT CENTER: During this long exam Lisa takes a few bites of some special food the doctor told Abby to prepare. RIGHT: Lisa's surgery was successful (though very expensive), she's doing very well, and she's riding home to Straydog in the back of the van with Juana, who is very happy (as are we all!) that our wonderful dog, Lisa-Lisa, has survived and is doing so well!

Very important for the future of Straydog:

A longtime friend and supporter of our Happy Home for Strays called
awhile back (long before Pat died) and suggested that we always print
the following words on our webpage and in our newsletters:

This friend (and supporter) pointed out that many retired contributors
are living on the limited earnings from their investments (as is he), and they
cannot afford to send very large donations but would be able to help us by

Another way to donate to Straydog is to link your Kroger card up to Straydog. When you use your Kroger card on purchases, Kroger will automatically add a portion to Straydog's account.

Just click on the link below, go to "find your organization" and type in "Straydog Inc." Then click on "Straydog Inc. ­ Gun Barrel City TX" and print out the "customer letter," take it to your local Kroger store and have the cashier scan the bar code at the bottom to link up your Kroger card to Straydog Inc.

You may donate to Straydog via your Tom Thumb Card

When you use a share card at Kroger or Tom Thumb in Texas or Louisiana, 1% of the purchase amount is donated to Straydog, Inc. With Tom Thumb all you need is to tell them the share card number, and they'll add it to your 'reward card'. The Straydog share card number for Tom Thumb is #10698.
