Betsy continues to recover at the clinic after her broken-leg surgery

This morning I went to the clinic to see Betsy again, and I talked with the doctor about her. She is still on morphine to keep her calm and quiet and the doctor wanted to keep Betsy over the weekend and suggested we leave her at the clinic until Monday, and then I'll go to see her again, and maybe she'll be ready to come home. We have the large kennel in our kitchen all ready for her.

Two more puppy-dogs join us

After I talked with Dr. Morton about Betsy and then looked in on her, the vet techs brought me the two Black Lab/Retriever mix puppy-dogs who had been boarded at the clinic for at least two months while the rescuer of the pups, Volunteer Shannon, had been trying in vain to find them homes.

This morning after the rearranging of several dogs, mixing and matching them with new kennel companions (after the adoptions of Doodles' and the three pups last Saturday), we ended up with one vacant kennel, so we were able to take these five-month-old siblings, Zack and Jeff.

These little pups needed a "home" and a yard to play in, especially after having been boarded for so long in a vet kennel, so our one vacant kennel became immediately occupied with these little fellows (and will be) until we are able to find them their forever families.

Zack and Jeff are cute, playful pups. They have short, soft black fur and weigh about 30 pounds. They are neutered and vaccinated and are all ready to become wonderful little house pets.

Zack and his bigger brother, Jeff, walk around their new kennel.

Either Zack or Jeff

As soon as I got back to Straydog, we put the pups in their newly vacated kennel, and they took off running! Around and around their big kennel yard they chased playfully after each other. Then they investigated their big shelter and the two dog houses filled with hay inside the shelter. They loved the hay and darted in and out of the houses sending the fresh hay flying everywhere! We fed them a good meal and they are very content and happy!

These two young fellas will be going to Adoption Day this coming Saturday at PetsMart in Plano, Texas on Central Expressway at Parker.
