Misty, Chubs and Cassie see the doctor, and Davey comes back "home" again!

This morning I had appointments scheduled to take Misty to the vet clinic for her allergy injection and the two nine-week-old Lab puppies, Cassie and Blind Chubs, for their second puppy vaccinations, and I was anxious to see the doctor to find out how Davey and Betsy were doing.

Misty saw the doctor first and had her allergy injection, and then the doctor gave Cassie and Chubs mini check-ups and their second puppy vaccinations. When these adorable Lab pups go to the clinic, everyone there comes to see them, and this morning the groomer, a vet tech and another member of the staff were in the examining with us, petting and holding the pups. Chubs weighs approximately 18 pounds, and Cassie weighs 16 pounds, give or take a wiggle or two.

Davey can come back home

After the pups were back in the van, the doctor brought big Old Davey into the examination room. The diarrhea was under control again, no blood, and his stools had firmed up quite a lot. He can come home, the doctor said after checking him over, and we are to watch Davey closely (as always) for any signs that the medication is not working.

Betsy needs to stay at the clinic for several more days

I put Davey in the van, and the vet tech and I went to see Betsy in her "hospital" kennel. Sweet Betsy was lying on her thick quilt, and even tho she had the full-length "Loose Thomas" cast on her leg, she still looked perkier than she had looked before since her leg break. Betsy may be able to come "home" by Friday, the doctor said.

Pixie is doing just beautifully with her new family!

Pixie's mom emailed saying that Pixie is adjusting beautifully and that Pixie is very trusting of her new family, and although Pixie was often very standoffish here in her kennel, she is bonding with her new family and welcomes kisses and hugs from her mom. As we said before, Pixie couldn't have found a more wonderful family to adopt her.
