Something's wrong with my email!

Bill left for Dallas about noon to visit with (and help out) his 94-year-old father for a day and a half (where Bill will continue to work on this website and our next newsletter), and now it's almost seven p.m., time for me to be turning in for the night (as Snowflake and Betsy will be getting me up about three a.m.), and because my email's been down for the past few hours, I had to call the following update into Bill, who took notes and will write the update. (Hopefully he'll get it right and will make it sound like me.)

Short rainstorm this morning gets everyone (dogs and caregivers) soaking wet

Luckily the hard rain lasted less than an hour and caused only minor damage to the kennel yards, requiring what we call "build up" along the baselines of some of the kennel fences.

Alice goes to the vet for her second (and last) heartworm treatment

As I reported last evening Alice (one of the second pair of dogs rescued from Tenison Golf Course in Dallas) was to get two heartworm-killing treatments in two days, and I took her to the vet clinic this morning for her second treatment. She's doing well (tho she has to remain as quiet as possible), and hopefully all the heartworms are dying and dissolving in her blood, which is the intended result of the two treatments.

Also we've received an email from a woman in Seagoville who is interested in possibly adopting both Alice and Sally. More on this possible double adoption later.

Old Davey seems happier and stronger today

Guy cooked Davey another steak dinner this afternoon, and we're giving the old fella lots of extra turns in the park (the Big Play Yard), and he's even begun playing ball again. It's just a matter of time now, and when Davey shows us he's had enough of this life, we'll take him in to Dr. Morton. But let's not count him out yet. He's had two very happy days in a row now.

Old Davey with his kennel mate, Heather, play ball in the park with Randy.

Davey chews the ball for a while before dropping it for Randy to throw again.

Davey's ears perk up as he turns to go after the ball Randy has just thrown.

Now Rhonda coaxes Davey to drop the ball so she can throw it for him to retrieve.

Rosie and her eight pups have settled right in, and all have tremendous appetites

All members of this new arrival family are doing fine!
