Where'd this cold weather come from?!

What a surprise it was to wake up to such a chilly morning! (Somehow I must have missed the weather report last evening.) When the alarm went off at 4:00 a.m. I dressed in my lightweight type clothing, and as usual when Toby and Blackie hear me getting ready for the day, they become very impatient to get outside for their early morning walk to the big play yard, which is the only place they will will take care of business.

I quickly leashed the fellows up, and out we went, and I about froze! Actually, it was just a lot colder out than I had expected, but then, if I'd take the time to listen to the weather report, I guess I'd know what to expect.

Then around 9:00 a.m. we had five minutes of hail, and then the sun came out, and the day gradually began to warm up, and ended up to be beautiful.

Blind Chubs and Sister Cassie have such a fun time in the play yard

The pups love to play with Joel, who is one of the caregivers who tends to the pups in the afternoon. When he takes these two pups to the big play yard, he unleashes them and then calls to them to come and catch him. Then off Joel goes, running slowly around the big play yard as he calls to the pups, with Chubs and Cassie in hot pursuit. Chubs, who is totally sightless (he actually has no eyes) can follow Joel with no problem because Joel is always talking to the fellas to "come on, catch me," and Chubs follows the sound of Joel's voice and his footsteps. Of course Chubs runs right alongside his sister too. This is their favorite game of the day: "Lets Catch Joel!" It is amazing to see Chubs running around the entire play yard, having such a fun time, without a care in the world.

Blind Chocolate Chubs and Cassie chase Joel around the park.

Mama Dog Laura loves to go to the play yard too

Caregiver Tina took Laura to the play yard today, but her son, Jesse-Bear, was his usual "stay-at-home" self, barking at his mom the whole time she was gone. Jesse is still afraid of the leash being put around his neck, but we're working on the challenge, and he will give in any day now, I hope.
