Tinkerbell has her spay surgery while under sedation for removal of burrs from her ears

When I called the clinic this morning to check on the little Sheltie pup, the technician said that she was doing okay, and since she was approximately six and a half months old, which is old enough to be spayed, they would do the spay surgery this morning, and would remove the burrs that are embedded in her ears at the same time. They had already treated Tinkerbell for the infestation of fleas and ticks. The doctor thought she'd be ready to come home this afternoon.

Tinkerbell comes to our Happy Home for Strays

At 3:00 the clinic called to say that Tinkerbell had come through the spay surgery just fine this morning and she was up and ready to come home, so I left right away to get her.

We take in many dogs and puppies sight unseen, so I was looking forward to actually seeing what Tinkerbell looked like.

Dr. Morton took me right back to her kennel, and there she was, curled up on a thick blue blanket. What a sweet petite little puppy-dog she is! Maybe she is part Sheltie mix,the doctor thought, and he explained that she is very timid right now, but we both think that with all the attention she'll be getting from all of us at our shelter she won't be timid for very long.

I carried Tinkerbell out to the crate in the van and home we came.

Upon arriving home Pat lifts Tinkerbell out of the travel crate to carry her to her kennel.

Tinkerbell's puppy kennel was all ready for her. (This is the kennel Willie used until he moved in first with Amy and Annie and then in with Kimberly.) In two weeks we'll be able to move Tinks in with another set of playful pups, probably Amy and Annie, if they haven't yet been adopted and are still with us.

I spent lots of time with Tinkerbell this evening, and already she's coming out of her shy little shell. She loves the attention.

Pat sets Tinkerbell in the emergency puppy kennel.

This beautiful small puppy-dog will be adopted fast once she's out of quarantine and ready for Adoption Day.
