Kennel crew and dogs moping

Today it rained off and on all day, but at least the temperatures remained cooler than normal for this time of the year. It's been a fairly routine day, tho everyone including the dogs seem a bit mopey. I also received reports from the kennel crew that there was an unusual looking butterfly fluttering around the kennels most of the day, and they all thought it must be Pat checking up on them.

Lassie's blood test hasn't come back yet

We called the vet clinic today to see if the results of Lassie's blood test had come back yet, but the lab hadn't sent them. Lassie's been fine all day, so we're not too worried at this point. We'll check with the clinic tomorrow.

Tinkerbell and Megan go to the park for the first time

It's always a joy to watch pups (or dogs) during their first outing in the park (the big play yard). I would have gotten some photos, but it was raining, and we can't take a chance on getting the camera wet. We'll try again tomorrow.

Newsletter going to press soon

Since (as we've said before) about 85% of the contributors on our mailing list (of more than 1,900) do not have access to the internet, I'm putting together a quick newsletter with the announcement of Pat's death we posted in the Sunday update plus a copy of the article by Jacquielynn Floyd that appeared in the June 3, 2003 Dallas Morning News, plus a thank-you letter to all the contributors whom Pat never quite got time to thank.

     More tomorrow.
