Bill Arnold's Daily Straydog Log

TUESDAY JUNE 17 2003

[Thanks to our daughter, Erin, again for writing today's update. And thanks to Erin for staying with me this week.]

Pepsi is back, but he has another possible forever home in the works! (And yet another cat! Oh boy!)

Chris and Ryan brought Pepsi back today. They felt so bad that it didn't work out and said that Pepsi was such a good dog! Pepsi's ears perked up as they were getting close to our dog shelter, they said.

Krissy sniffed Pepsi all over, and Pepsi wagged his tail a lot when he got back in his kennel with his mom. We forgot to ask Chris and Ryan if they wanted a tour of the place! We didn't mean to be rude! We aren't used to having a lot of visitors, and it slipped our minds. We're sorry guys!!

Pepsi

Mother Krissy sniffs and licks her grown son upon his return.

Pepsi rests under a shade board.

Shortly after Pepsi returned, we received another call asking about adopting Pepsi. This is the couple who adopted Scooch from Straydog awhile back. They only have this one dog, Scooch (or maybe he has a different name now), and they do have a cat but said they are willing to spend lots of time to see if this will work. Oh, boy, Pepsi!! Will this be your forever home? Are you destined to be with a kitty?

Emily continues to recover well

It's been two and a half weeks since Emily's surgery, and she is using her leg a lot during her outings in the big play yard. We can tell she's feeling pretty good, not minding her rehab exercises as much now and seeming not to need her pain pills. (She's not whining anymore.) She's also wanting to play a lot in her little hospital kennel. There isn't much room in there, but she'll dance around in a circle on her bed when she's in a playful mood whenever we go sit in her kennel to pet her. Emily would make such a nice pet for a family wanting a medium-size, sweet dog--a family with time to run and play with her.

Julie goes to the doctor for a second glucose curve test in as many days

This is the second day in a row that Julie, the diabetic dog, has been to Dr. Morton for her glucose curve testing. Today everything looked better than yesterday, but we will have to keep her at this higher dosage of insulin for the time being.
