Bill Arnold's Daily Straydog Log
MONDAY JUNE 30 2003
Bobby's stitches are leaking, so Shannon takes him to the clinic, and when they arrive, the clinic receptionist asks Shannon if the litter of puppies left Saturday are for Straydog
Bobby:
Bobby's incision was oozing a little too much blood this morning, so rather than going home to get some sleep after working all night, Shannon took the boy to the vet clinic. Dr. Morton examined Bobby and said the stitches were not coming apart but that Bobby would need some antibiotics, which he provided us with.

The 5 pups:
Shannon also was told that five puppies had been dropped off Saturday by the woman named Karen, so Shannon brought the little cuties home to Straydog along with Bobby.
A big communications breakdown: As we reported both Saturday and Sunday, we couldn't get ahold of Karen (the woman who had rescued the pups), and we also were unable to get ahold of anyone at the vet clinic. The kennel person at the clinic had received the pups Saturday morning from Karen (as per the original plan set up Friday night), but this kennel person (who comes in on the weekends to feed the boarded dogs and clean their kennels) does not answer the phone, and we couldn't reach Dr. Morton as he was out of town, and even worse, Karen never called us to report that she had dropped off the pups, and she never returned the messages we had left her on her voice mail.
The pups are now here, and we put them in quarantine in the emergency puppy kennel. Here are a bunch of the photos we took upon their arrival:
