Today's vet-visit report from Shannon
Misty
Misty received her biweekly allergy
shot. As always, she was wonderfully behaved and had no problems.
Rover
Rover's left ear has a cyst that
was lanced in December and again today. Dr. Morton had previously
determined it was not a cancerous tumor and would occasionally
return. He also got his little toenails clipped while waiting
to see the doctor.
Julie
Julie's glucose curve determined
that her insulin level is too high. Her glucose readings (previously
erratic and over 300) were very low (around 65), but stable. Julie
will now receive less insulin. She will be rechecked in a couple
of days.
Also today we had to shave Toby because of skin allergies along with mats
Toby, who was one of two of Pat's inside dogs (the other one being Little Blackie), prefers to stay outside most of the time. He hates air conditioning and always has tho Pat always made him come inside at night. Since Pat's death Toby has (of his own volition) stayed in his small kennel area just outside the kitchen sliding glass door. (He, of course, along with Blackie get several outings in the big play yard every day.)
Lately Toby been chewing his skin--actually biting off mats. (Nobody seems to be able to brush the dogs the way Pat always did, tho we're all working on it.) He has also always had a bit of a skin allergy condition, so today we shaved him (except for his head), and he looks like an Australian Poodle, but he's very happy with his new 'do.
