SUNDAY JULY 27 2003

Two more volunteers spend most of the day at Straydog

After reading about Ofelia coming to volunteer this past Wednesday Kathi and Marci volunteered to come out and help with the dogs today. After they arrived, they accompanied Angel, this morning's dog walker, finishing up the sets who were still waiting for their turns in the park.

Volunteer Marci, Jack, Jill, Volunteer Kathi and regular Caregiver Angel behind Kathi. As we've reported before, when new people first see these extremely handicapped pups--Jack is both blind and deaf while Jill is deaf but has some vision in one eye--, they can't believe these pups can't see and hear normally. Jack and Jill act just like normal puppies.

Jack takes a little swim in the pool.

Jill just gave Marci a big kiss.

Then in the afternoon Kathi accompanied Randy, and Marci accompanied Angel during "final rounds," which consist of spending quality time with each set of dogs in their respective kennels.

We very much appreciate Kathi and Marci's help today. The dogs obviously receive more personal attention when we have extra people to attend to them.

Please call us or email us any time you might have a few hours to volunteer with dog walks and caregiving.

It's been a hot, hot day

A routine day for late July. No emergencies, thank goodness. Come on, October!
