MORNING UPDATE

Jack and Jill plus Willie go to vet clinic for spay/neuter operations

Jack and Jill will be ready to pick up late this afternoon, and they'll spend a night or two in one of the living room kennels. Willie will stay overnight at the clinic where they can keep an eye on him during post-surgery.

Jesse and Laura get mats shaved

These are two of the five golf course strays, and they won't let us shave their mats, so they went to the clinic along with the three pups. We'll pick them up when we pick up Jack and Jill.

Sally and Alice: no update on their tail sores yet

When Shannon was at the clinic this morning dropping off the above five dogs, Sally and Alice hadn't yet had their tail bandages changed, so there's no report yet. [LATER: They're improving each day.]

Anthony's biopsy not back yet

But Shannon went ahead and made an appointment with Dr. McDonald at Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center for this Thursday at 8:00 a.m. in case it is cancer of the jaw and we do have to have some of the lower jaw amputated.

EVENING UPDATE

Jack and Jill are back home in the inside kennel that Katie has been using during the day. It took a little getting used to for these two "Lethal White Aussie" pups, who are deaf and blind (except for the partial vision in one of Jill's eyes). They were both asleep in the living room kennel when I arrived back at Straydog after teaching my Spanish class at Trinity Valley Community College this evening.

Jack gets a drink as his sister, Jill, looks to be crowding him.

Jill looks back at the camera with her one functioning eye.

Jack (who's totally deaf and totally blind) sleeps with his head on the water bowl.

Jilly's sound asleep.
