Shannon's Vet Report for today

  Julie

When Juana took Julie for her glucose test this morning, Dr. Morton said the results were too high and he wanted to keep her for two more tests. When I went to pick Julie up in the afternoon, Dr. Morton was consulting with Dr. Williams, a gastrointestinal specialist. Dr. Williams told Dr. Morton that in his opinion Julie's problem was not pancreatic insufficiency. He told Dr. Morton that he believes Julie is on a diet with too much fiber. Dr. Morton told me that Dr. Williams is the only small intestine specialist in the country, he values his opinion and wants to follow his suggestions regarding Julie's diet. Meanwhile Julie will remain inside in her living room kennel where we can watch her closely.

  Bobby

Bobby is doing beautifully! He took his last antibiotic, and Dr. McDonald said we could stop his pain medicine. We are continuing his physical therapy, and he takes many walks to the big play yard, where he spends several minutes during each outing every day.

  Sally & Alice

Sally's tail is healing nicely (which adds to our suspicions that Alice was chewing Sally's tail as well as her own). Alice's tail was great when Juana checked on her at 10:00 this morning. At 10:30 a.m., however, Alice had chewed off her bandage along with some more of her tail. Dr. Morton put on an even larger E-collar, and he will determine if he needs to recommend corrective surgery.

  Jack & Jill

Jack and Jill seem to be recovering wonderfully from their spay and neuter surgeries. They are back home in their outside kennel digging as usual! We took away their swimming pool and only have a small amount of water in their drinking bucket so they won't submerge their stitches.

  Willie

Willie (also recovering from neuter surgery) is doing well. He's happy to be back with his buddy Pierce.
