Report from Shannon ...

Julie saw her eye specialist this morning in Arlington, Texas

Julie went to see her eye specialist, Dr. Paulsen, today. Her right eye has been very sensitive lately, so Dr. Paulsen wanted to check on the small benign tumor on her eyelid. He didn't think its return would cause problems, but now it seems to be irritating her eye enough that he thinks it should be removed. Julie will have the tumor frozen and removed on Tuesday. It will be done under local anesthetic, and thank you to Dr. Paulsen for giving us a very generous discount for the surgery!

Ofelia volunteered to help with the dogs again today

Wednesday Volunteer Ofelia was back today helping with dog walks. She also wrote down the names of all our doggies to make nifty laminated name cards for every kennel (a project we've been wanting to do for a long time). She has offered to donate funding for the dogs' summer grooming! Thank you, Ofelia!

Matthew and Kevin join our kennel helper team

Our newest team members, Matthew and Kevin, pet and get kisses from Rosie and two of her pups, Rudy and Benny. Rudy and Benny will both be at adoption day this Saturday at Petsmart in Plano. They are great little puppy dogs, but they are growing bigger and bigger all the time. They need to find their forever homes as soon as possible.

Thunder always scares the threesome--Fluffy, Muffy and Buffy

Oops! We forgot to tell our new caregiver, Angela, how hard it is to leave the Threesomes' kennel when there is thunder. Pat always told all of the new people to call for help when you have to enter or exit Buffy, Fluffy, and Muffy's kennel. They will squeeze into the entrance gate, and will not budge!

Angela can't get out of Muffy, Buffy and Fluffy's kennel

After a few minutes, Angela realized she wasn't getting out of there! She called over the walkie-talkie to Joel, the PM Team Leader, asking for help.

Joel's an old pro with all of the dogs at Straydog, but even he had trouble getting the trio to move.

After a struggle Joel finally got them out of the entrance gate area and back into their kennel.
