Willie moves inside temporarily

     Willie is such a sweet boy! Because his kennel mate Pierce was getting a bit too rowdy for him, Willie was going to move to Sally and Alice's kennel while they are recovering. When Erin and I were walking him across the big play yard, Buddy and Betsy (Sally and Alice's next door neighbors) sounded their normal bark. Willie immediately stopped at our feet and hid. We didn't have the heart to leave him in the big new kennel all by himself. We are such softies. We didn't want to tell Bill (he's going to come home to quite a crowded place!), but since there are already so many hospital dogs, we figured one more crate wouldn't hurt. Besides, Willie's so sweet and quiet, and we can house-train him while he's here. Two people at adoption day yesterday were interested in Willie, so we're hoping he will have a forever home soon. In the meantime, we sure are enjoying him!

Veronica loves attention from people more than from other dogs

     Sweet Veronica! She was one of the Shepherd mixes who was going to be shot by a human (see Wednesday, June 18 update (Click here for that update) because she had fleas. Her kennel mate Archie is always anxious to run and play with other dogs, but Veronica always seeks out human contact first. She is very affectionate and loves to give hugs and kisses.
