Tinkerbell adopted at our Adoption Day at PetsMart in Plano, Texas
Erin's report from Adoption Day ...
Eleven-year-old Natalie and her Mom and Dad fell in love with Tinkerbell today at Petsmart. Natalie hasn't had a doggie before, and she is enthralled by little Tinks! Her daddy had had many Shepherd dogs growing up and liked the looks of Pepsi, but when he saw his daughter walking all around the store with Tinkerbell on her leash, he said, okay, this is the dog we want! The family had come to Petsmart and other adoption places for three weeks now, so they were ready to choose their new companion today! We had a feeling this adoption would go well since they had no other dogs that little Tinkerbell could get jealous of, so we showed the family the kind of food Tinks is used to eating, and Natalie's Dad bought some.
Consuelo and I made the home visit and saw that the family had recently purchased a home that came with an eight-foot fence! The living room looks right onto the back yard, so Tinkerbell can let her new family know when she needs to go out very easily!
I showed the little girl how we feed Tinkerbell (since it was two hours past her meal time). Tinkerbell will even get to drink 'filtered' water. Natalie showed me how the little spigot works in the kitchen.
We're pretty sure that Tinkerbell has finally found her forever home and that Natalie's first doggie will be a perfect one for her! Congratulations Tinkerbell and Natalie!
Consuelo took some digital pictures and will send them soon!
Veronica has more interested potential homes lined up! We will report more on this next week after our home visits. It was too late to do any more home visits this afternoon. We didn't get back to Straydog till after six-thirty p.m., and the unadopted dogs were sure eager to get back in their kennels.

Ol' Jed came in to PetsMart with Larry and Larry's two other dogs
I was on the home visit with Tinkerbell, so I missed this visit, but everyone who saw Jed and his new family said that Jed looked to be a very, very happy old man.
Why can't we stop allowing puppies to be born and take care of all of these old guys like Jed. There are literally millions of them out there waiting for their forever homes.
