Blind Chocolate Lab Chubs and his Black Lab sister, Cassie, have visitors

Jana and Charlie Harris volunteered to work with Blind Chubs and Cassie again last evening after I had already finished most of yesterday's update. They practiced the sit command with the dogs and walked them around our big play yard on a double-lead leash. They're volunteering to come back several more times to work with these almost full-grown siblings, and we thank them very much.

Buster goes to the vet for red spots on his chest

Yesterday one of the caregivers noticed several red sores on Buster's chest. They didn't look like the usual hot spots the dogs often get in hot weather, so Juana took Buster to the vet clinic first thing this morning. Dr. Morton diagnosed them as some sort of skin irritation and prescribed a special shampoo to be used for bathing Buster twice weekly until symptoms subside.

When Buster got back home, he was very thirsty but his sister, Dixie, was
sitting in their water bucket, so Buster had to get a drink from the pool.

Bath time for Buster

Juana holds up Buster's fur to show the red spots as Buster looks up at Tina begging her to stop the torture.

Buster's not happy about this bathing business.

Penny gets groomed, again thanks to Ofelia's generous grooming donation

Her kennel mate, Scooter, just loved Penny's new look. He chased Penny all around their kennel trying to bite Penny's new bows off her ears.

Scooter goes after one of the bows.

A moment after this photo was taken, pretty Penny scraped the remaining bow off by rubbing along the fence.
