We still had Foxy Yatzee alone in a kennel, Scotty alone in a kennel and Sandy alone in a kennel. Hoping Foxy would be compatible with either of these two old-timers we first tried Foxy with Sandy, and we got all the way to the leashes-off stage before Sandy became aggressive toward Foxy. We just barely got Sandy's leash back on him before there could be any trouble.

Next we took Sandy back to his single kennel and tried Scotty with Foxy Yatzee. Tho Scotty seemed interested in Foxy thru the fence, once we got them in the park, Scotty began his deep, serious growl, and that was the end of that.

I took about 55 photos of all the above events today (about half of which may make it onto this Sunday Update), and I haven't even begun to process them yet, and I'm no closer to having a newsletter ready to go to the printer than I was yesterday at this time. I think I might have to put together a simple little four-pager for this mailing to let our supporters (80 to 90% of whom don't see this website) know that we're still here and still operating just as Pat would have wanted us to.
A prospective adopter comes to see Mandy
A young woman named Chris saw Mandy on Petfinders.org and called to see if she could come out and visit with Mandy. Chris got here about five this afternoon just as our day crew was leaving, and she liked Mandy very much, and Mandy liked Chris very much. Our next step is to arrange a home visit to Chris's house, some 85 miles from Straydog, during which we'll be introducing Mandy to Chris's other dog and her cats.

Blackie's not feeling well today
Blackie has bouts of upset tummy every once in a while, probably due to the fact that he'll eat anything he can find anywhere, and we often catch him licking the kitchen floor like a miniature mop. I just had to put him out in the park to chew on grass, and I'll leave him there while I try to start working on all the above missing photos.
Our over-night guy, Randy Hopkins, will arrive at nine p.m., thank God!
I'm covering the five to nine shift this evening, and except for Blackie's upset stomach and diabetic Julie's need to go out to urinate every hour or so it's been pretty quiet so far. I may get some of today's photos processed and added to this Homepage before bedtime, which is ten p.m. as I have to be back on duty ("running the show") a little before six a.m. If only there were 48 hours in each and every day.
Now I've just heard from Erin that she's emailed me the photos from yesterday's Adoption Day
I guess I need to get those photos on yesterday's update before starting to work on today's photos for today's update. ... But wait, the phone's ringing for the millionth time today, and I'd better go check on Blackie as it's starting to get dark.
