Chubs, Julie and Misty go to the vet clinic

   Chubs

Blind Chocolate Lab Chubs has a small sore spot on the right corner of his right eye lid, which Tina said Chubs received when he bumped into the edge of his shelter while playing with his sighted sister, Cassie. The doctor gave us a topical medicine to treat the sore. The small bald spot on Chubs' side is an infection of some sort, and the doctor prescribed an antibiotic for this.

That's Chubs in the crate on the left ready to go to the doctor.

And here comes Chubs, back from the vet, trying to get at his sister, who is in their kennel behind the lattice.

   Misty

Misty went to the vet for her monthly allergy shot, which stops her from chewing at her paw.

Misty doesn't look too happy about going to the vet clinic.

   Julie

Julie's blood sugar level was high again today for the third straight time, so Dr. Morton raised her insulin dosage back up from 15 units to 20 units three times a day.

Julie's in a crate in the side of the van, waiting to go to the doctor.

Julie's back home looking as happy as can be.

Champ's blood work came back: something abnormal with his thyroid

Dr. Morton wants to recheck Champ's blood targeting only the thyroid, to make sure the reading was correct. We'll probably do that tomorrow.

Teddy's blood work came back showing he does have an infection

But the infection is not in his ears. The doctor doesn't know where it is and wants us to recheck his blood in a month.

Our general outside supervisor, Juana, brought her dog, Buddy, with her to work today to meet Purdis

As you may remember, Juany (aka Juana) adopted Purdis a couple of weeks ago, but she hasn't been able to take him home yet, because she doesn't have a fenced yard. (When an employee or a volunteer adopts a dog, they have to meet the same requirements as anyone else.) Finally Juany's portable fencing sections are going to be delivered to her home tomorrow, and she'll get her fence constructed this weekend, and then we'll do the home visit to be sure the enclosure is adequate. The other part of the home visit is to make sure the newly adopted dog is compatible with the dogs already in the household. In order to shorten this process Juany brought her dog, Buddy, to work with her today to introduce him to Purdis, and they are compatible as is shown in the following photos:
