Erin's Report from Adoption Day ...
The new guardians ("mom and dad") of Tinkerbell (who's now Angel-Girl) came into PetsMart today
Mary and Bob Shore came into Petsmart today to buy treats for Tinkerbell, who's new name is Angel-Girl! Tinks (or Angel-Girl) is doing fine! She is playful, but mellow enough for this couple too! She enjoys her walks every day and knows the length of her expandable leash. When she gets excited and wants to run (whenever Mary is walking instead of running with her), she'll run to the end of the leash, do a turn-around flip at the end of the leash and run back the other way only to do another fancy turn-around and come back!
Angel-Girl also likes her TV dinners! She will grab a mouthful of her crunchy food and take it into the living room where Bob and Mary sometimes eat while watching television. Tinkerbell lies down and begins to slowly eat one piece of dry food at a time while watching TV! The family likes to watch Animal Planet, and Angel-Girl likes Animal Planet too!
Angel-Girl has her den in the kitchen with a baby gate for when the couple is out. She has her toys there and goes in her kitchen room willingly when Bob and Mary ask her to. There hasn't been one accident in the house, and that might be due to all her good previous adoption families who tried their best to have Tinkerbell be happy with them, but I guess it was Bob and Mary whom little Angel-Girl was waiting for!
Congratulations, Bob, Mary and Angel-Girl!
Amigo goes on a fun home visit, but comes back to PetsMart unadopted
We had fun today at a nice family's home with a fancy swimming pool that Amigo got used to really quickly! The family was very impressed that Amigo was so gentle with their little dog Bazzles, who just wouldn't leave Amigo alone. The two played very well together, just as Amigo plays so nicely with little Purdis, his soon-to-be-adopted kennel mate at Straydog.
We all had a great time, but the family decided they weren't really ready for Amigo at this time due to work schedules and things like that. They were so apologetic, but that's all right, we said. This is why Straydog does home visits, we explained. Everyone has to feel good about the situation, and if there is any hesitation, please never worry about saying no. Adopting a dog is a big commitment, and we understand!
So, off we went, Amigo a little wet from the pool but happy to have had a car ride and a nice play session with Bazzles and a nice swim! Thank you for the fun time, Amigo says!
Purdis was officially adopted by Juana at the end of her workday at Straydog
Juana finished getting her back yard fence up and secure Friday evening, so at the end of her shift at Straydog today, she took Purdis home with her.
