First hundred newsletters make it to the post office in time tonight
We had rain mixed with sunshine today, and not having to water the usually hot sandy turf of the kennels freed up kennel workers today to help fold pieces of the mailing and stuff envelopes. Erin arrived about three this afternoon with her additional four pages of photos pulled directly off our website, so we had just one hour to fold her new picture pages and stuff them into the envelopes we'd already stuffed with my four-pager and Erin's two-page letter. The closest post office is about nine miles away, so at four o'clock I took the basket full of the completed, stuffed, stamped and sealed envelopes and got them to the post office just in time.

Diabetic Julie went to the vet clinic for her blood sugar test, and Big Boy went for another blood test too
Julie's blood sugar was medium high today, and Dr. Morton said to continue what we're doing with her diet and continue with the same 17 units of insulin. We'll test her again Friday.

Big Boy had epileptic seizures quite some time ago and has been on phenobarbitol ever since. A recent blood test indicated to Dr. Morton that Big Boy needed to double the phenobarbitol, which is a very strong medicine that can cause liver damage over time, so we're checking his blood again to see how he's doing. We've also added supplements to Big Boy's diet suggested by a holistic veterinarian (Dr. Gardner). We won't know the results of Big Boy's test for a couple of days as Dr. Morton has to send it off to a lab.
