No adoptions today, but Straydog receives $96 from the proceeds of a raffle

We took Penny & Scooter and Rudy & Benny to Adoption Day at PetsMart on Central at Parker in Plano, Texas today, and there wasn't much action in the store, but out in the parking lot a real estate firm was holding a chile cook-off, and while our volunteers were walking the dogs on their potty breaks, some of the people attending the chile cook-off became interested in our dogs, and we gave them copies of our latest newsletter. Later at the chile cook-off there was a raffle for a DVD player, and the woman, whose name is Holly, who was running the raffle donated the proceeds from the raffle, $96, to Straydog! Then later the same woman come over to PetsMart and gave us another $31 she had collected while passing out our newsletters. We thank you very, very much, Holly. And Holly said she would like to help us with fund raising. As always, anything anyone can do to help us raise funds is greatly appreciated.

Here are a couple of photos taken at Adoption Day before the above events:

LEFT PHOTO: It's Angela's turn to take care of Scooter. This wonderful junior
high school student volunteers every Saturday! And we thank you very, very much, Angela!

RIGHT: Consuelo, a medical doctor who donates many, many hours to Straydog during our Adoption Days,
for which we thank her very, very much, is caregiving Scooter and Penny in the "adoption pen" at PetsMart today.
