Foster home with 15 dogs in Plano must find new homes by Wednesday
A woman called me yesterday evening with a very sad story: She's got 15 rescued dogs at her home, and a neighbor, who is afraid of dogs, has called Animal Control on several occasions when he hears the dogs playing in the back yard, and now the dogs must go, or Animal Control will take them from the woman by force.
At Straydog we've got a list of dogs stacked up like airplanes in holding patterns waiting for a spot to land, but because this woman is doing the same thing we are, I told her she could bring some of her most compatible dogs out to Straydog, and we would introduce them to our recent singles--Scotti, Sandy, Tipper, Krissy and Dixie--, and if there's a compatible matchup between any of them, we'll fill the empty spots in the five singles kennels with the compatible dogs. I sure hope we get some matchups, so we can help this woman. She's already looking for rural property north of Plano to hopefully relocate to, but that can't be done by Wednesday.
Meanwhile our two new arrivals are on hold at the clinic

Russell (rescued and brought to us by a woman whose last name is Russell) would have been ready to come home today, but Dr. Morton had a long emergency surgery Friday afternoon and then he was gone all weekend and won't be back till tomorrow. So Russell's on hold at the clinic.
Henry's on hold too until tomorrow
Henry you'll remember has a tube in his jaw and is wearing an E-collar, and Dr. Morton wanted to see him Tuesday before he takes Henry's tube out and sends him home.
Tomorrow will be a big mix and match day
We've got Russell and Henry to place at our shelter tomorrow plus the dogs coming from the Plano foster home, so we're going to be busy. I'll take lots of photos.
Jesse Juderman volunteers to groom our dogs
This wonderful young woman just got out of dog grooming school, and in order to polish her skills she has offered to come and volunteer some days grooming various dogs who may need it. We thank you very much, Jesse!
