Straydog takes in six new dogs!

Our old friend in rescue and contributor to Straydog, SJ Greenwood, who'd brought us Katie back in '99 (or 2000), transported us these new dogs from the foster home in Plano we talked about yesterday. The foster lady has taken very good care of these sweets dogs. All are healthy. The foster lady had already spayed/neutered and vaccinated and tested all the dogs for heartworms (all negative), and they are currently on heartworm preventive, so there'll be no "new arrivals" checkups at the vet clinic. We weren't sure that our single dogs, who have shown incompatibility with other dogs, would accept any of these new dogs, but they all seemed to understand the situation, and each accepted a new kennel mate. The new dogs are all very friendly adult dogs, who are now up for adoption, and we've placed them in our shelter as follows:

(1) Colby (new big Rott male, just as gentle as could be) goes in with Krissy. Chico had to stand near Krissy's kennel with a hose, at-the-ready, till we were sure they would get along.
(2) Shawna (new female) goes in with Scotti, whose most recent kennel mate (since the death of Fuzzy, whom he'd roomed with for years) was Daisy, who was recently adopted. This matchup of Scotti and Shawna is working out so far.
(3) Boomer II, a Lab mix who looks a lot like Benny, has moved in with Tipper.

(4) Becky was Sandy's first choice, but since she jumped right over our six-foot-fence, we had to try Kelsey, and this is working out so far.
(5) Little Bear and Betty were already in the same crate in the back of SJ's truck, so we put them in the newly vacated Sally and Alice kennel. (Please remember that Sally and Alice (who is extremely afraid of gunfire and thunder--only Alice and not Sally) are both now in the small Jack and Jill kennel, since Jack and Jill are now in the Chubs & Cassie Kennel, formerly the Helen & Sweetie Kennel, and before that the Stevie & Pete kennel.
