Another frozen morning

As usual on subfreezing mornings, our kennel crew breaks the ice covering the dogs' water buckets and dumps the pieces on the ground for the dogs to chew on.

Water bucket ice.

Sasha (now Star) was officially adopted, picked up by her new family and is on her way to her new home!

The new family, including the mom and dad and a daughter in elementary school, arrived at Straydog about 3:30 this afternoon, and we harnessed up Sasha (soon to be renamed Star) in a new harness the family brought with them, and we all went out to the park (the big play yard), where Sasha/Star got a workout playing ball with the daughter before they left for the trip back to Frisco, Texas, north of Dallas.

The home visit had been made yesterday by John Pippin, a long-time volunteer, and everything looked great--especially their back yard, enclosed by an eight-foot fence!

We know you're going to have a great life, Star!

Star (formerly Sasha) looks very pleased to be getting so much attention from her new family as April and
Johnny look on. April was adopted once by a very nice, rich older woman who said (when she brought April back)
that April had been so sad and homesick that the woman couldn't keep April away from Straydog. Pat wrote about
how happy both April and Johnny were to be back together again that day. But this lucky dog, Star (formerly
Sasha) is a recent Straydog rescue, and she's more than ready to become part of this wonderful family.
