FRIDAY DECEMBER 5 2003

This morning Old Pup looked so sick that Juany took only Pup to the vet clinic

Dr. Morton did a blood test and found Pup's potassium very high and his sodium very low. The doctor wanted Pup to stay at the clinic all day so he could take periodic samplings before sending the blood off to the lab for more analysis.

We are to pick up Old Pup from the clinic at six this evening, and he'll be in one of the indoor hospital kennels.

Buffy hasn't eaten at all today, and we think he didn't eat yesterday either

We suspect his sister, Fluffy, has been finishing up Buffy's food, so today we watched closely, and sure enough Buffy didn't eat and Fluffy started eating her brother's food as soon as she finished hers, so we picked it up and called the vet clinic to let them know that Buffy would be coming in when Juany came to get Old Pup.

Dr. Morton wants to see Fritz also

Fritz had been breathing with much difficulty, and we followed Dr. Morton's prescription of medications, and Fritz is doing much better, but Dr. Morton still wants to see Fritz.

After Juany got back from the vets ...

Old Pup is not doing too well

Dr. Morton says it might be Addison's Disease. We might lose Old Pup. We've got to give him subcutaneous IVs every five or six hours throughout the night and day tomorrow, and we will do this. Pups may respond and start to improve, and this is what we're all hoping and praying for.

Old Pup is lying on puppy-pads because he continues to pass blood. We'll watch him closely all night long.

Both Fritz and Buffy should be okay

Blood tests and other test showed nothing wrong with these two guys, so we'll watch them closely but assume they're okay.
