SATURDAY DECEMBER 20 2003

Erin Arnold Johnson's Adoption Day Report

There were no adoptions today, but lots of people came by and oooohed and aaaaahed at Henry, Kerry, Benny & Rudy and Shawna.

This was Shawna's first time at Adoption Day, and she was very excited and somewhat head-strong. Kristi Brookshires, a PetsMart trainer there at the store on her day off, volunteered some time to work with Shawna with a "gentle lead" and a squirt water bottle and TREATS! Shawna wants to be in charge and needs more work, but we did see improvement as the doggie got used to Kristi's working with her.

Kristi also volunteered to take Sasha, our incorrigible Golden Retriever rescue, home for the weekend next week, and if Sasha isn't too much trouble, and if Kristi's husband says okay, she'll keep Sasha to work with for a week! Thank you Kristi!

Erin Hensley's 3rd grade class donated $125 and wrote some very nice notes to Straydog. Thank you kids!
