www.Straydog.org Update - POSTED EVERY DAY AT NOON
Bill Arnold's Daily Straydog Log
TUESDAY FEBRUARY 3 2004
At post time Rudy's appointment at the Dallas Veterinary Diagnostic Center has not yet been moved up
After several attempts to contact each other yesterday and again this morning, our local vet, Dr. Morton, and the Diagnostic Center vet, Dr. Bronstad, have not yet talked, and Rudy's appointment is still set for the 16th at 10:00 a.m.
Except for his extreme weight loss (Rudy now weighs about 30 pounds less than he weighed a couple of months ago) Rudy seems fine. He runs and plays with his brother and mother, he has a great appetite, his stools are good and he seems to be a very happy young puppy dog.
Hopefully by the end of today we'll have Rudy's appointment rescheduled for as soon as possible.
Tom the Cat came thru his surgery just fine and is now at Erin's house
Erin's writing a report on Tom, which we'll include in tomorrow's update.
Thanks to our contributors our operations fund (which is our only fund) is running about seven weeks ahead as of today
This may not sound like much of a cushion, but the Straydog Inc. bank account usually drops to about a two-week reserve before we panic and go into our desperation fund raising mode. Right now we're working on the next newsletter, which as of right now will not have a desperation headline.
Our daily updates and live web cams are basically intended for disclosure rather than entertainment
As I've reported before, every once in a while I receive an email asking why I would think anyone would be interested in knowing about the mundane daily happenings at our no-kill dog shelter. I guess it annoys or irritates some people who might think that I might see myself as some sort of an artist creating this daily journal ("live and in color").
I spend a lot of time every day trying to keep caught up with this website so that you (our current contributors and potential future contributors) know that we are for real. We want you to be able to see (and read about) where your contributions are going.
