Shawna back from spay surgery

Bill Arnold's Daily Straydog Log

MONDAY FEBRUARY 23 2004

Puppy William goes to the vet clinic for his new arrivals checkup

Tina left with Puppy William about 9:30 this morning. Dr. Morton says that other than round worms the little fella looks healthy. William is running a fever, however, which the doctor said could indicate the possibility of distemper, and Tina just said at a little before noon that William wouldn't eat his second puppy meal today. We'll watch him closely.

Puppy William is concerned about all the neighboring dogs.

Shawna's back from her spay surgery and has to be separated from Scottie again

Tina got back to Straydog with both Puppy William and Shawna at about 11:00 this morning. We put Shawna back in her kennel with Scottie, and they both seemed happy to see each other again, but the reunion didn't last long. After just a couple of minutes of sniffing Scottie started "misbehaving," and we got Shawna out of the kennel quickly before she could be injured. She'll spend a few days in a kennel inside our hospital trailer.

Scottie waits by the gate for Shawna.

After only a couple of minutes together (photos of which we did not take), Shawna is lead out of their kennel.

Shawna will remain in an inside kennel until she fully recovers from her spay surgery.

Shawna now shares an entire hospital ward with Jeannie.

Katie's not ready yet for her trip across Rainbow Bridge

We kind of thought we'd be taking her in this morning, but she seems a little better today, so we've decided to take her to Dr. Reeves tomorrow to get his assessment of her health and condition. Erin has an appointment for 2:30 p.m. for Katie and others.

Rocky's been eating well and seems to be completely over his intestinal upset

I've been keeping a close eye on Rocky (as I've been having Rocky and Ginger sleep in my RV with me at night for several weeks), and although he had a few accidents in the night while he was sick last week and the week before last, he's doing much better now, eating well, and he seems to be back to his old self.
