Jack spends his big play yard time sniffing the birds in the big park tree
Several months ago we did a report on Jack's preoccupation with the birds in the big tree in the park. At that time we all thought Jack was totally blind and was using only his sense of smell to detect the presence of the birds. (We are sure Jack is totally deaf, although there is disagreement among our caregivers as to whether these two siblings are indeed totally deaf.) In any case now we know that Jack can see a little bit with one eye, but we're also sure he cannot see nearly as well as his sister Jilly, who pays no attention whatsoever to the birds. So, we are convinced that it is the smell of the birds and their droppings that so interests Jack. Here are some photos and a video of Jack under the tree in the big play yard yesterday afternoon:

Hopefully yesterday was our last rain day for a while
Going through the regular routine on cold, rainy days is difficult for the caregivers, but the dogs' wellbeing always comes first, and they don't seem to care what the weather is. They want their play times in the park, their meals and their pooped picked up--in a timely manner. And that's what we do for them.

Dear Bill and Erin:
I just wanted you to know that I will be putting a check in the mail to you today for $450.00 which is the proceeds from the suckers that I made for Valentine's Day. Thanks to Region 10 and Richardson Junior High staffers, we were able to generate that amount. We think of you often and wish we could do more. Our love to you for continuing Pat's work.
