Big Helen Fort became an Easter Bunny
Erin finally got this one photo to me last night. There were supposed to be other photos attached to the email from Darla Fort (Helen's mom and wife of Neal Fort, who plays professional football for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League), but Erin couldn't open the other attachments, so we're hoping Darla will resend the photos.
Helen, who was adopted by the Forts at the beginning of December 2002, is a part-albino Great Dane who is totally deaf and almost blind (with just a little vision in one eye), and she's a very, very lucky dog.

The temperatures are to drop into the 30s tonight!
Just as we were getting all the shelter fronts off and the hay out of the dog houses, we're now going to have to "hay the houses" again for tonight. We were wondering if we should let the dogs sleep just this one night in their hayless dog houses, but then we figured that Pat would have had hay put back into each and every house, so that's what we'll do this afternoon during caregiving rounds. After tonight the forecast is for night time temperatures to be in the 50s and 60s.
All dogs are doing fine today
Prince is recovering nicely from his surgery in one of the hospital kennels. Rudy's gaining weight. Julie's had diarrhea for a couple of days, but she's getting better. The sun's out and all the dogs are enjoying the day after two days of cold, rainy weather.
