TUESDAY APRIL 27 2004

Erin and I are taking Rocky, Katie and others to Dr. Reeves this afternoon

   Rocky

Rocky's still very lethargic and doesn't look like he feels too good, though he's still eating well, and he walks to the park on his own for his potty breaks. Then he wants to go back to his hospital kennel, where he plops down exhausted and sleeps soundly for a few hours.

This morning about eight o'clock Rocky woke up and had to go out bad. I called via radio to the dog walker, and there was a set of dogs in the park, so I walked Rocky over to my RV yard, where he peed and peed and peed. His medicines are causing him to urinate a lot, and he's always thirsty and is drinking a lot of water.

Ginger was very glad to see Rocky in their RV yard, and after Rocky took care of his potty business, he didn't want to go back to the hospital. Instead he marched right over to the ramp leading up to my RV door waiting for me, and the old boy went right in and lay down in is favorite spot under the table I'm sitting at typing right now. He seems happy to be back with me rather than in his hospital kennel.

Rocky's waiting for me to take him into my RV rather than back to the hospital trailer.

Ginger's glad Rocky's back.

We're all anxious about Rocky's vet visit with Dr. Reeves this afternoon. Is Rocky getting better or not? Hopefully Dr. Reeves will be able to tell us more about Rocky's chances of recovering when the doctor sees Rocky today.

   Katie

For the past few days up until yesterday Katie was looking more and more like she was ready to go in for her final vet visit. Yesterday, however, she seemed to make an amazing comeback. She trotted some during her walks in the park, and last evening while she was in the park with Erin, Katie barked several times at Big Boomer who had come close to his kennel fence opposite the park fence to try to intimidate Katie.

Even Dr. Reeves had said during last week's examination and treatment of Katie that he thought the time was drawing near. We'll see what Dr. Reeves says today.

Katie got really spunky in the park last evening.

More of little Scooby's hair is falling out around his eyes

The following will be a good "before" photo, as in a very few weeks this little guy will have his fur back and will be 100% okay.

Great family! Lucky little beagle pup. We have tried to stick to seven dogs. I figured that out by seven dogs, seven days, seven bathes. Then we just try to donate to help the rest of you who have big rescues.
