NOON UPDATE
Erin reports on Rocky after a late morning phone call to Dr. Reeves ...
Rocky's not doing so well: He'll eat only when hand-fed by Mrs. Reeves
Rocky doesn't want to eat, except from Janice Reeves' hand. "I don't let Janice do any of the pills or medicines," Dr. Reeves said. "I'm doing all the things that are aggravating to the old boy, but he will eat with Janice's coaxing. I didn't want to spoil Rocky, but he has to eat. I am still feeding him through the IVs too."
Rocky's gums are pink, but when he walks, he looses color. There may be a problem with his circulatory system and blood getting through. Dr. Reeves will take more blood today and send it off to see if Rocky is making blood and how his organs are holding up. The blood work will be back this weekend.
"Sometimes Rocky has sad eyes, and sometimes bright eyes," the doctor said. "He perks up when I do the IVs (or some new therapy), but it doesn't seem to stick."
My dad and my brother, Joey (who originally rescued Rocky 12 years ago), will be visiting Rocky this afternoon, and they will get more of the doctor's thoughts on Rocky-Boy's progress.
Other news ...
Two four-year-old Chihuahuas are rescued and adopted into a good home!
These two dogs had been left in their owner/guardian's house after the old gentleman died recently. The daughter had been feeding the dogs, but couldn't take them to her house because she already has too many dogs at home, so she called us recently asking if we could take the dogs. Meanwhile another individual called looking for a small female dog, and we hooked the two parties up, and the adoption of the two little Chihuahuas was made. The two dogs are now in their new home, which they share with a Yorkie, whom they get along with very well. The Chihuahuas are named Buster and Sable. They are healthy, already potty trained, and Kathy and her husband (the new mom and dad) are very happy with the addition of these two Chihuahuas to their family. We're glad we were able to help in getting these two dogs into a happy forever home.

Thanks to everyone who has
been instrumental in the wonderful care of "our girls"
from the minute we rescued them. I can now announce that they
have a new forever home TOGETHER!
They will go for their last series of heartworm treatments May
18 and 19. Following ANOTHER month of healing and recuperation
they will be spayed once they are determined all clear of heartworms.
Please continue to keep them in your prayers for strength and
healing as they go through their last heartworm treatments.
Thankfully,
Claudia
