NOON UPDATE

Happy 47th Birthday, Erin!

Erin (born May 14, 1957) carries Thelma from the van into the vet clinic a couple of weeks ago.

On this date in 1957 Pat and I became parents for the first time

In addition to the usual things that cause teenagers to fall in love, both Pat and I (first meeting in the eighth grade when we were 13 years old) always had a tremendous love for dogs and cats (and other animals). I don't remember whether we ever talked about our feelings toward animals, but I know we demonstrated to each other this love whenever we encountered a dog or a cat (or any other animal).

And when both parents feel and display this strong love for animals, their children will grow up to have the same sentiments, which is certainly the case with our wonderful daughter, Erin! (Ditto for Erin's two brothers, Bill, Jr. and Joe, and her sister, Stacey.)

Report on Rocky, who had a good day yesterday and is doing super today!

Rocky's been holding his own pretty much for the last couple of days with no significant change--until yesterday evening and this morning. Erin just talked with Dr. Reeves' wife, and she said Rocky ate a big meal last night and another this morning, and they're leaving his kennel door open now, and he comes out and sits down and watches everything like a normal, well dog.

This photo of Rocky was taken this past Tuesday when we were at the clinic.

Tina will be visiting Rocky this afternoon when she takes both Toby and Angel over to see Dr. Reeves for more acupuncture treatments for their bad backs, hips and hind legs.

Don't forget Saturday Adoption Day

We'll publish the roster of attending doggies later today or early tomorrow morning.
