NOON UPDATE
Goodbye, Rocky. Adios, amigo
Rocky had massive internal bleeding in the middle of the night due to not having enough of these very essential coagulating platelets in his blood. The doctor called it an acute attack this time compared to the chronic low-platelet condition Rocky had been experiencing over the past several months up until the time he came home from the clinic with normal blood on May 18th. Dr. Reeves said that yesterday's blood test results (which didn't come back till this morning) showed Rocky's platelet count was down to 3,000. The normal is 400,000. Another valiant comeback was just not meant to be this time.
I called our son, Joe, who had rescued Rocky back in 1992, to tell him the sad news, and I could tell Joe felt very bad about Rocky's death.
A few minutes later I remembered the date and called Joe back to wish him a happy birthday. Thirty-nine years ago today Pat gave birth to Joe, our fourth child.

The death of a loved one is so hard to accept. Our only comfort is that Rocky is now under Pat's care once again.
